1. Strictly Necessary Cookies
These are required for sign-in, security, and core functionality. Blocking them will prevent parts of Aptux from working, such as staying signed in or loading the clinic dashboard.
- Sign-in session cookies (set by our authentication system) — keep you signed in and enforce verified-email and passkey requirements. Sessions last up to 12 hours and refresh with activity about hourly; afterward you are signed out and must sign in again.
- Short-lived security cookies (set during sign-in flows) — complete email verification, one-time email codes, passkey checks, and invitation acceptance securely, and help prevent fraud. They expire automatically after the flow completes or times out.
sidebar_state(dashboard only) — remembers whether the dashboard sidebar is expanded or collapsed, for up to 7 days.
Exact technical cookie names and flags for the sign-in cookies follow our authentication library's defaults, so they are described here by category rather than by name.
2. Functional and Preference Storage
Aptux stores one interface preference in your browser's local storage (not a cookie): a per-clinic flag recording that you dismissed the fee-schedule introduction in clinic settings, so it is not shown again for that clinic. It stays until you clear site data.
Aptux has no theme picker and no “remember me” option; sign-in sessions always expire as described above.
3. No Third-Party Tracking
Aptux does not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, PostHog, Segment, or any other third-party analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking technology, and there are no advertising cookies on Aptux.
Reports labelled “Analytics” inside the product are first-party clinic summaries (for example, appointments and revenue) computed from the clinic's own records for clinic owners — they involve no third-party tracker. Address search is performed server-to-server and does not load third-party tracking scripts in your browser.
4. Stripe and Payment Cookies
Online payments are processed by Stripe. Clinic administrators setting up payments use embedded Stripe components in clinic settings, and patients pay on Stripe-hosted checkout or invoice pages. On those surfaces, Stripe — acting under its own privacy policy — may set cookies or similar technologies for security, fraud prevention, and completing the payment. Aptux does not control the names or durations of Stripe's cookies.
5. How You Can Control Cookies
There is currently no in-product cookie-preferences panel; you can control cookies through your browser: block or delete cookies, clear site data (which also removes the preference in Section 2), or use private/incognito mode. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will sign you out or break sign-in and dashboard functionality.
“Do Not Track” handling is described in Section 18 of our Privacy Policy.
6. Contact
Questions about this Notice or our use of cookies: getaptux@gmail.com. Patients asking about a clinical record should contact the clinic responsible for that record first, as described in the Privacy Policy.
